My Story
The opportunity to serve the citizens of Washington County has been my sincere
pleasure. My wife, Jill, our three children and eight grandchildren all love Utah’s
Dixie. We ran a successful landscape business for 40 years. Great neighbors and
great educators have prepared them to raise their own families.
Gil graduated from Dixie College then received his Bachelor’s and Master’s
Degrees from BYU. Public service has included St. George Planning Commission,
St. George City Council and Washington County Commissioner. Add to this
numerous boards and committees.
My focus has always centered around water, transportation, public safety and
planning. Attainable housing has become an increasing concern. I am fiscally
conservative and always seek efficiency in how government services are provided.
Growth in government is not the answer. Balancing budgets and tightening belts is.
I am ready to meet the challenges ahead and win.
I stand by the principles of the Republican platform, defend the Constitution, and
promote personal freedoms above all. The Caucus/Convention process is the best
way to meet neighbors, share ideas and stay involved in what makes Washington
County great. I look forward to meeting our citizens in this election season.
